The 2012 CWATS Master Plan calls for developing end-use or end-of-trip facilities to encourage the use of bicycles as a mode of transportation and to ensure pedestrians have access to washrooms, water and garbage bins.
Bike Lockers:
Secure and free bike lockers are ready to rent at key locations in each of Essex County’s seven municipalities. Bike lockers provide protection from theft, vandalism and inclement weather. The lockers accommodate one bicycle per door along with gear, such as helmets and pannier bags.
Users can access the lockers by using the free Movatic smartphone app and can scan the QR code below to download the app.
Peruse this Step-by-Step Guide on how to use the bike lockers and report any issues.
There is one locker with compartments for two bicycles at each of the following locations:
- Amherstburg: corner of Richmond Street and Ramsey Street
- Essex: Essex Recreation Complex
- Kingsville: Kingsville Arena
- LaSalle: Vollmer Complex
- Lakeshore: Belle River Marina
- Leamington: Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre
- Tecumseh: Tecumseh Arena
There are also lockers outside the Essex County Civic Centre in the Town of Essex.
Water Finder:
The health unit has created an interactive online tool that links you to water-related resources throughout Windsor and Essex County, including water fountains, filling stations, splash pads, swimming pools and beaches.

- Safe and secure bicycle parking
- Shower area
- Washrooms
- Changing rooms
