There are active transportation corridors including bicycle lanes and paved shoulders crisscrossing Essex County. Find one near you and get moving!

Tourism Windsor Essex County Pelee Island has a list of all area parks and trails as well information on cycling and enjoying area wineries or breweries and distilleries.

ERCA paths and trails

The Essex Region Conservation Authority maintains two cycling and hiking trails along former rail routes. The Essex-Amherstburg Greenway stretches 26 km between Essex and Amherstburg and the Chrysler Canada Greenway stretches 50 km from Windsor to Leamington. The two trails intersect in the McGregor portion of Essex.

Municipal trails and events

Amherstburg

The Town of Amherstburg has several linked paths and trails, including the Essex-Amherstburg Greenway and the Amherstburg Heritage Trail, which explores the history of a town renowned for its role in the War of 1812 and for welcoming refugee slaves via the Underground Railroad.

Essex

The Town of Essex has several parks and trails in its four distinct areas and is the nexus point for the Essex-Amherstburg Greenway and the Chrysler Canada Greenway.

Kingsville

The Town of Kingsville has an interactive map of its paths and trails. In Kingsville, the Waterfront Trail joins the Chrysler Canada Greenway.

Lakeshore

The Town of Lakeshore has a map of on and off road trails. Lighthouse Cove in Lakeshore is the western terminus of the Waterfront Trail.

LaSalle

The Town of LaSalle is celebrated for its tree cover and wooded trails, boasting more than 40 km of paved trails.

Leamington

The Municipality of Leamington maps its parks and trails, and is home to a portion of the Waterfront Trail providing spectacular views of Lake Erie.

Tecumseh

The Town of Tecumseh has beautiful trails and parks, including one offering Disc Golf. You can explore them using the town's interactive map.

The City of Windsor maps its paths and trails and users of the CWATS network can easily access them.
