Housing with Supports

This program helps find affordable housing for low-income adults who need help with daily living. Eleven homes provide housing to more than 200 people in need. Many of these people have experienced homelessness prior to accessing the program.

The Housing with Supports Residencesare located around the county and each offers different services and settings. All homes adhere to the County of Essex Housing with Supports Program Standards, available in English and French.

Applicants must meet five conditions:

  • Be over 18
  • Have limited assets
  • Agree to the placement
  • Have a documented medical need
  • Complete an application with required documentation

Subsidized clients keep a small allowance each month out of their total income. The maximum monthly income amount is $1,854.00.
