County of Essex Council Ratifies Tentative Agreement with CUPE Local 2974.2

Essex County Council has ratified the tentative agreement reached with CUPE Local 2974.2, which represents more than 300 paramedics and support staff with Essex-Windsor EMS.

The agreement was endorsed by the County’s bargaining team, and the union’s bargaining team is recommending ratification to its members. The agreement remains subject to ratification by union members. The County will not release details until the ratification process is complete.

“Our paramedics and support staff provide vital services every day, often under extraordinarily challenging circumstances. This tentative agreement reflects the importance of that work,” said Essex County Warden Hilda MacDonald. “I thank them for their service to the residents of Windsor, Essex County and Pelee Island, and I thank both bargaining teams for the time and effort they devoted to these negotiations.”
