Warden Encourages Honouring Veterans as Remembrance Day Approaches. Wear a poppy and take time to learn about the service and sacrifices of Canada’s veterans as Remembrance Day approaches, Warden Hilda MacDonald said at the start of Wednesday’s Essex County Council meeting.

Essex County Council has endorsed a three-year collective agreement with Teamsters Local 879, which represents workers with the roads division of the County’s Infrastructure Services department. The contract replaces seasonal rates with a single rate and provides for an average wage increase of 3. 38 per cent in the first year, 2. 98 per cent in the second year and 3. 01 per cent in the third year.

There will be a Regular meeting of Essex County Council on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 which is scheduled to commence at 6:00 PM. As permitted pursuant to By-law 2022-31, being a by-law to provide rules governing the order and proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex, adopted on October 19, 2022, the meeting will take place with members of County Council in person at the Essex County Civic Centre.
