  • Public Information Centre About Plans for County Road 22 to be Held June 17

    The latest information about a study aimed at identifying strategies and design alternatives for County Road 22 in Lakeshore will be presented at a virtual public information centre June 17. The County of Essex – with the Municipality of Lakeshore as a key stakeholder – has hired WSP Consultants to investigate alternatives for the future of County Road 22 from East Puce Road to Belle River Road.

  • County of Essex Lowers Flags to Honour Residential School Victims

    The County of Essex today lowered flags at all its facilities to honour the 215 children whose remains were found on the site of a former residential school in British Columbia. The flags at County facilities – including Essex-Windsor EMS bases and Sun Parlor Home in Leamington – will remain at half-mast for 215 hours.

  • Public Invited to Report Accessibility Issues on Greenway Trails

    The Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee, in partnership with the Essex Region Conservation Authority, today launched a web page where the public can provide feedback about Greenway trails. The first phase of the committee’s WE Check the Trails project focuses on ERCA’s 80 kilometres of trails, which include the Chrysler Canada Greenway, the Cypher Systems Group Greenway and the Rotary (1918) Centennial Hub.

  • 2021-06-02 Essex County Council Regular Meeting Notice

    There will be a meeting of Essex County Council on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 7:00 PM. As permitted under By-law 2020-16, a By-law to Amend By-law 41-2018, being a by-law to provide rules governing the order and proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the County of Essex, adopted on March 26, 2020, the meeting will take place remotely, with members of County Council joining via web-conference.

    County Road 46. will have lane restrictions between County Road 31 and County Road 27 from March 22 to July 9 for Enbridge.

  • ‘Hometown Heroes’ Honoured for Paramedic Services Week

    Essex-Windsor EMS is celebrating Paramedic Services Week this year by hanging banners in all of our local municipalities with the badge numbers of each of the staff members who call that municipality home. “Essex-Windsor EMS is a regional service serving distinct, local municipalities that is composed of dedicated and compassionate Paramedics and support staff from each of those jurisdictions,” said Essex-Windsor EMS Chief Bruce Krauter.

    Essex County Council supported a Regional Energy Plan in principle Wednesday night and directed Administration to begin pursuing its recommended strategies to address climate change and reduce local energy consumption and costs. .
